The best spaghetti bolognese recipe
Next Wednesday is Spaghetti Bolognese Day, and we are celebrating by sharing our recipes using the delicious newly realased Bolognese sauce from Filippo Berio. ??Share your recipe too using #spagbolday and embrace being you!Here's my rule breaking recipe. Enjoy Carmela ??
Servings 4 people
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil Filippoberio
- 1 banana shallot peeled, finely chopped
- 1 Small carrot Peeled, finely chopped
- 1/2 Stick celery Finely chopped with a few leaves
- 1 Garlic clove in its skin
- 250 g Pork mince sweeter than beef
- 300 g Bolognese sauce FIlippo Berio
- 1 Parmigiano Reggiano rind Optional
- Salt and pepper season to taste
- Pinch dried oregano (I'm obsessed with oregano)
- Pinch Dried chilli ... use fresh if you prefer
- 1/4 lemon zested (Don't tell nonna)
- Basil To finish
- 30 g Parmigiano Reggiano grated
- 300 g Spaghetti Delverde
Instructions
- Add the oil to a small saucepan. Fry off the prepared shallot, carrot, and celery for 5 minutes.
- Add the garlic clove in it whole form.
- Fry off the mince until coloured all over and add the Bolognese sauce . Scatter in the celery leaves.
- Add the Parmigiano Reggiano rind and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and chilli.
- Cook for 90 minutes.
- To finish, add the lemon zest for a touch of freshness and tender fresh basil leaves.
- Cook the spaghetti until aldente and dress with the sauce and grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
