Saturday 16th May 1.00pm – 3.30pm Antipasto workshop

Carmela will guide and demonstrate for you a varieties of antipasti ideas that you can taste.

From filled baby peppers, bruschetta with 2 toppings, panzanella salad, aubergine caponata, polenta with seasonal topping, seasonal pesto. The students will all make baby filled peppers to take home and bake.

The museum will notify you in advance of what equipment you will need to bring along on the day.

Sunday 22nd November Stir up Sunday  – 1.00pm – 3.30pm – Christmas pudding workshop

Christmas pudding making with an Italian amaretto twist. Carmela will demonstrate how to make tiramisu, chocolate caprese cake with a mascarpone hazelnut cream and pistachio and cranberry biscotti and if time allows polenta and boozy sultana biscuits from Venice.

Discover the delights of Italian cuisine with Carmela Sereno Hayes
We are delighted to be welcoming back Carmela Sereno Hayes to Bay Tree Cottage for 2020. Carmela specialises in the art of making pasta and is the author of two beautiful cookery books ‘A Passion for Pasta’ and ‘Southern Italian Family Cooking’, with her third cookery book ‘Northern & Central Italian Family Cooking’, due for release 23rd July 2020.

Come and join her workshops throughout the year and learn how to cook simple, inexpensive, flavoursome dishes using good quality seasonal ingredients…perfect for enjoying with family and friends.

Spend an evening learning how to make three types of pasta known as cavatelli, gnocchetti sardi and farfalle, followed by a demonstration of a seasonal filled pasta tortellini, served with a sausage and saffron sauce and a pea and ricotta pesto. When all the cooking is complete, you will be able to sit back and sample the results accompanied by a glass of prosecco!

Festive Italian Desserts  – £24.50pp

Thursday 5th December – 7.00pm – 9.00pm 
Get ready for a festive feast as you learn how to make tiramisu doused in amaretto and layered with dark chocolate and clementine, a mixed nut and cherry cantuccini biscotti, a classic panforte and torta della nonna sprinkled with pine-nuts.
