As soon as you mention Sherry , you possibly associate it with a trifle or it may bring back memories of your grandma having a little glass or two of an evening.

All I say is try it again,  but with new eyes and a fresh palate. The cream sherry that I have tried recently was delicious and incredibly full of flavour and full of bodied. A little sweet and delicious after a meal or just because…… Being Italian I do enjoy a glass or two or marsala, a tradition that my father Rocco and I share, however this year with my cheese board I will offer him and the rest of mia famiglia a small glass or sherry instead.

The Caversham sherry compliments strong Stilton and various seasonal cheddars and berry cheeses very well.If I am lucky I may even be able to make a douse a little sponge and make a tipsy trifle too if I have any left!

This sherry has been specially selected by Aldi’s Master of Wine expert Sarah Jane Evans. I have to agree with the expert, a wonderful pairing with cheese and a great addition to my drinks cabinet and Christmas table. Both the Caversham Cream Sherry and the Christmas cheese selection are available at all Aldi stores.
