I am not really very good at craft, from sewing, knitting or anything that really requires copious amounts of patience. I have a sewing machine, all the books, knitting needles and am still knitting my scarf I started 18 months ago. If I could eat it I may feel a little more motivated. I’m too busy for long tasks, even though I love to see the final results. I like to see quick turn around. So there is nothing I enjoy more than a little two minute job, sewing my chili’s together in my cucina. They make a fabulous festive decoration for the kitchen and are a perfect gift for any aspiring foodie who likes a spicy kick in the pasta.
Use your chili’s from the garden or alternatively buy them from your green grocers or supermarket. Choose a chili with a long stalk and the type of chili (heat) is up to you! How picante do you like it. Thread them with a needle and cotton (colour choice of cotton is yours). Knot the cotton and insert the needle at the base of the green stalk. Add each chili as you go and knot the length’s at the end, hang to dry or pop into a jar and give as a gift. Inexpensive and thoughtful. A great addition to any homemade hamper.
Please ensure you wash your hands and needle thoroughly after! No chili burn…………
