Barista Robert & Steffan the chocolatier…… |
Coffee and chocolate, two of my very favourite treats. I enjoy coffee and adore chocolate so for me this is an evening made in heaven. The difference in taste, texture and odour was incredible. We were taught the way to pair up coffee and chocolate. To taste the different notes in coffee and to be able to choose a chocolate that echoed and reflected and even in some ways improved the taste of the coffee.
Milk, dark, orange and white chocolate were used. The Lindt chocolate really is absolutely delicious. The only way I can describe it is, silky, velvety and not claggy on the tongue, it simply melts away. I am not a connoisseur at all, however I do like a good quality coffee and likewise in chocolate.

In my younger days I would dunk a chocolate bar (the one named after a planet) into a cup of tea, in desperate times I still might do this. Saying that though it would be too sweet on my pallet now. To have the expertise of a master chocolatier and head barista was just divine and so interesting. They were very pleased as I think they taught us a thing or two about quality, taste and flavour.
Robert and Steffan worked so well together and it goes to show that both coffee and chocolate works anytime of the day.
Try a different flavoured chocolate with an unsweetened warm coffee, have a go and see what you think?
