The excitement of going to visit London for the day sometimes is a little over bearing, more so because of the food delis, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, street food and more. I have to munch my way around the city in a day. Julie from Angelina Cupcake also came for the day before we attending an evening coffee and chocolate  function.
We didn’t stop eating, from the moment are feet touched the station platform we were off. The hussel and bussel of London, busy streets, pathways and roads, didn’t bother us at all. We meander our way around Soho, from food shop to restaurant.
Lina Stores LTD, has been well established for years and is simply incredible. A beautiful Italian deli, set in the heart of Soho. Slightly retro in feel, with shelves bulging with dried assortments of pasta, rice, tins of beans, polenta, oils, vinegar………. The fridge deli was just heaven, I could have lost myself in it completely. Parma ham, cheese to die for , salami and home made fresh pasta.
Lina’s Store, had a ladder on runners that whizzed up and down the shop. The ladder was a necessity because the food was stocked from the bottom shelf to the ceiling. If you are ever in Soho this shop with out a doubt it an absolute must to visit, grab an espresso and biscotti.
This was the start to the most perfect day. Next time I will be a tourist and bring along my wheelie trolley and fill in to the top and embarrass myself as well as Julie.
For lunch we went to Polpo, in Soho. The sun was shining and the large glass windows were open, Julie and I felt like we were in an Italian bar on the Amalfi coast. So beautiful and perfect.
For lunch we had a simple sharing Italian lunch with a glass or prosecco. Coppa with buffalo mozzarella, olives, focaccia, arancini balls, and grissini sticks that were wrapped in parma ham, delicious. Eagerly anticipating my return, hopefully not too long to wait.
